Global Players in a Complex World

But according to European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, the European Union can be seen as a new “non-imperial empire.” In any case, there is no denying the rapidity with which Chinese-European relations have developed over the past twenty years.
In this work, specialists from China and Europe go beyond the everyday political debates and economic rivalries to investigate the relations of these two major global players in order to enrich reciprocal understanding. Making full use of their backgrounds from a variety of fields of study, the following selected topics are tackled:
