Urban Art New Zealand - Urban Art in Neuseeland
Urban Art, Street Art & Graffiti in New Zealand
von Erlandas Earl Adams44 pages with more than 400 photos of Urban Art taken in New Zealand. Nature spreads as far as the eye can reach. Fjords, mountains, glaciers, volcanoes, green hills, Ocean, sheep, street art and graffiti… Wait, street art and graffiti? So far, an unthinkable and intolerable thing. Neither isolation nor distance from the rest of the world, nor the strict immigration rules can stop a revolutionary and contemporary art practices, like graffiti and urban art. The largest number of motives for this book I have found in Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Wanganui and Christchurch, aside of tourists beaten paths and usual tour guides. Including graffiti, murals, painted electrical boxes, stickers, stencils and paintings by ASKEW, BMD, Cut Collective, Doug Ford, C. J. Finlayson and numerous other artists. New Zealand‘s first Urban Art Festival „Oi YOU!“ premiered in Nelson. I photographed enthusiastically.
