In her sketchbook „The Fates“, Diana Al-Hadid shows the processes through which the exhibition and its works have developed as well as the witty playfulness with which she employs traditional practices. Her sculpture, drawings, and panels merge figuration and abstraction and employ a range of materials ranging from steel and fiberglass to gold leaf and pigment. Al-Hadid draws influences from the disrupted typologies of architecture, antiquity, cosmology, and Old Master paintings.
